Alphas God's Eye: Everything Changes Now

The finale of Alphas has come and gone as like the previous finale, the stakes have been raised once again and the world of Alphas has been turned upside down again. This will also be my final review for Alphas this year since I have recently taken up writing a lot of television reviews recently. Back onto the topic of Alphas, God's Eye left the season on a cliff hanger and it is still unknown whether Alphas has been renewed yet for a third season.

For the majority of God's Eye, it focused on an injured Rosen who was desperately looking for Parish throughout New York city. If you think about it the whole season arced towards this episode and the standoff between Parish and Rosen. In addition the last few episodes, Rosen's determination to stop Parish has increased to a point where Rosen beginning to hallucinate his dead daughter Dani. Dani served as Rosen's thinking side while Rosen was injured and experiencing blood loss. So Rosen basically walks around the city mumbling to himself and eventually figures out that Parish is Grand Station.

Back with the team, they are working around the clock to find Rosen and to stop Parish's plot. Due to an accidental murder in the tunnels, Kat figures out that the very thing they were installing to stop Parish was actually a weapon Parish had Skylar create for him. Which reminds me, Summer Glau was back as Skylar and was helping the team stop Parish's master plan. Which is to kill of all non-alphas save Rosen. This takes us to the human side of Alphas as relationships build up again. This gives us cute scenes between Nina and Hicks, in addition to Rachel and her boyfriend. The character that stood out the most was Gary as he was finally given some decent character development. Gary shows some backbone by saying no to Rosen and telling Rosen that he will help Rosen this time. Woo hoo go Gary. The gang soon figures out that Parish and his team of baddies are at Grand Station and head there.

God's Eye really did focus on general character development for a few characters as well as facing the problem that Parish represented.  As I mentioned above, Rosen was a large focus of the episode as God's Eye played with Rosen's determination of going after Parish. In Season 1, Rosen would have never done something like this. The same could be said about the first half of season 2, as Rosen really didn't have motivation to go full on after Parish. After Dani's death, Rosen just snapped. The ending of God's Eye, really said something about his character. I also liked Gary's character development this episode as he connected with his mother and become more sure about himself. Something else Alphas does well is that it doesn't simple forget something and this was seen with Kat and her anger at the team for not telling her about their plan.

Now God's Eye wasn't perfect as it did leave some things open it probably should have. But no fears, if season 3 happens, it can fix those. First issue of the article is, well basically Kat. As we all know, Kat only can remember things for a month and then she forgets. So are we to assume that basically everything after meeting Kat happened in a month? Ugh television show timelines. As for Rosen, I kinda wish that he at least hit Parish or something instead just glaring at him. Another loose end is the Bill fight club story, as it was just shoved to the side and forgotten about. I really hope that Alphas addresses this at some point.

Now season 2 of Alphas was decent overall and God's Eye finishes off the arc of the war between Parish and Rosen. We saw some characters come out of their comfort zone as well as others fall down to new lows. It is every bit of the human drama you can expect it to be. As for word on season 3, only time (and Syfy) can tell.

This ends the Alpha reviews for the year. You can check out my other reviews of Arrow, Supernatural and Beauty and the Beast during the week.

Alphas 'Need To Know': This Is War

Tension is building up as Alphas swings into its final arc of hunting down Parish. There is no more mister nice Rosen anymore, but a man gunning for revenge. The stakes are high as Parish's plan swings into final phrase and its bigger and badder this time. In addition to some great guest stars as well.

The team knows that Parish has got a plan and are scrambling to figure out what the end game is. Rosen eventually figures out that Parish will execute his plan on the day he knew he was an alpha. Which just so happens to be in two days. Nothing says happy anniversary like a plan for world destruction. In order to figure out what Parish was shipping in, Rachel decides they need to find Sylar, but can't seem to reach her. Rosen and Hicks have other plans though as they abduct Scipio under the team's noses.

The whole abduction of Scopio really shows how Rosen is hurting from his daughter's death and is really treating this whole situation against as war. Essentially, Parish and Rosen are waring against each other, so grabbing Scipio was a big move on Rosen's part. So Rosen, Hicks, Rachel and, Nina begin to interrogate Scipio and finding that getting the answers they want is not going to be easy. Things take a darker turn when drugs were brought in along side Nina's "pushing". Back at HQ, Bill realizes that something is up and that the team is missing save Gary and Kat. Bill eventually figures out that the others had grabbed Scipio. Meanwhile Gary figures out where Sylar is.

Both sides on Alphas are gearing up for something big in Need To Know. Rosen really went to the dark side in this episode by using Scipio's humane side to keep him trapped, but then turning around and using it torture him as well. Need To Know was really about the path Rosen was taking and how he did it. Like erasing all of Parish's memories from Mitchell. This poses a question, how will it all end? I also love seeing Summar Glau back and the little terminator reference made in the episode. For those who do not know, Summer stared in the Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles where she plays a terminator called Cameron.

Next week the finale of season 2 of Alphas, God's Eye, airs. Watch as Rosen and Parish go head to head with their own goals and ideals. This has got me thinking, will they actually kill off a main character? What will happen to Kat? How will this affect Alphas overall? So many questions, only one finale to answer.

Alphas 'If Memory Serves': Burn It To The Ground

After the slow and emotional episode of last week, Alphas soon returns to the fight as the hunt for Parish begins. Not only that, but Sean Astin guest stars as Mitchell, an alpha connected to Parish. We also see the return of Kat, as she returns from her training.

So Alphas kicks off with them collecting up Parish's fellow alphas and collecting them for interrogation. This gives the audience montage of team just kicking butt and taking names (no seriously they are). Then Rosen gets a break through when he discovers a location he knows Parish has a connection, and secretly sends Hicks and Kat to check it out. The duo soon finds a cabin with a guard guarding something. When the guard leaves, they sneak in and discover a man named Mitchell inside. Deciding not to leave Mitchell behind, Hicks and Kat take Mitchell with them back to Rosen. Back at HQ, the senator Rosen and Nina were pushing to stop Parish shows up, and Nina fears that senator will remember her. Gary also finds himself in a situation as his mother was in a car accident and he has to go to the hospital to see her. Back to the traveling Duo, they soon find themselves hunted by the guardian who is attempting to get Mitchell back.

It is great to see Kat back in action and teaming up with Hicks on a mission. Kat is exactly what Hicks needs too in a friend since Kat is a fresh pair of eyes to everything. In addition to Hicks being all surly and Kat excited for her first mission. If Memory Serves also adds some changes to Gary's life as his mother suffers from a stroke. All his life Gary has been taken care of by his mother and now its coming to a point where she'll need someone to take care of her. So how will Gary cope with this change in this life is the next question. It was very cool to see Sean Astin guest star in Alphas. Alphas has always managed to get these great guest stars and give them more than just a cameo appearance. The highlight of this episode was when Rosen burns SPOILER's SPOILER down, to just stick it to SPOILER. Rosen is not his usual calm self and its awesome.

There is not much that I can think of that went wrong in If Memory Serves. The guardian for Mitchell was a tad bit lame since he wasn't immortal, but had really strong bones. He got hit by a car, but walked away due to this ability. Didn't he like bruise his insides, or break a blood vessel or something? Then the only way to stop him is to drown him due to the heaviness of bones? I guess the only person who really can be invincible is Parish, who is really tormented by what he did. Which I'm not going to get into.

Only two more episodes of Alphas left to the second season. If Memory Serves is just building up the tension between Parish and Rosen. Rosen is fully committed to this war, and willing to stop Parish no matter what. Next week Need To Know airs as Skylar reappears, but this time in Parish's clutches.

Alphas 'Life After Death': All The Feels

After the events of the previous episode The Devil Will Drag You Under, Alphas takes a small break from their usual solve a crime routine as the characters are in mourning. Life After Death shows the team in shock after Dani's death, especially Rosen and Hicks. Essentially, Life After Death is more of a filler episode than anything.

The episode opens with Rosen shopping for coffins for his daughter (which is sad to see Rosen do), after watching videos of her growing up as a child. Elsewhere the team is at the office on the weekend to keep working on the investigation while Hicks is mourning in his office. Then Clay and his men appear in office telling the team to give over all information Rosen has on Parish. The team is not happy with this, but comply.  Except for Hicks, who finds out Rosen approved this, and stomps off to find out why. A lot of this episode is Rosen remembering his interview with Clay and going through Dani's apartment. Skipping ahead to the baby. Gary is given a baby by a mysterious woman, and team begin the search for his parents. Then two people show up claiming to be the parents, and Gary suspects they're not.

Life After Death, in a way, is building up tension for a much bigger episode coming up. I like how it didn't make its characters pretend that they were fine, because they seriously were not. Hicks was moping about and even went as far to ask Nina to push him. Rosen didn't stay at the office to keep it off his mind, but instead went to his daughter's. What was also great about this episode is fight scene in the office. It was up to Bill and Nina to protect Benjamin/Luke and they brought it. I was more wowed by Nina's fight, since she is normal the calm collected one without an alpha ability to fight. Also found it interesting to see Gary take care of a baby so well. He doesn't like people touching him, but the baby finds his way into Gary's heart (lets ignore the alpha ability for a sec).

I can't say that Life After Death was my favorite episode though. I felt that the baby plot was a bit random and only forged for something for the other characters to do. Life After Death also gave us an explanation to what Dani did to Nina, but it was nothing more than her just showing Nina how she felt. I really don't want to keep picking at this episode, since its supposed to be like a remembrance to Dani. That and I can't think of anything more without feeling like a douche for pointing it out. Although I did expect more rage from Hicks. Also felt that Clay interviewing Rosen on the incident was pointless since there was probably paper work somewhere that would tell him the same thing.

We will miss Dani as the characters will do. Life After Death was a slow episode in the Alphas universe, but it gives us character changing moments. I expect to see action in the next episode, as Life After Death built up the tension. See you next week!

Alphas 'The Devil Wiil Drag You Under': The Times Are Getting Dark

Intensity is thy name Alphas. What an episode The Devil Will Drag You Under was! It was both intense and heartbreaking as the war against Stanton Parish continues. We also learn of Dani's fate this episode.

The Devil Will Drag You Under picked up after Rosen offer's his daughter a way out of her situation. It is no surprise that Rosen cares very much for his daughter and got her a deal to save her. Somehow he gets Dani to agree to sign on to spy on Parish, the man she respected and trusted. Dani is soon shipped out back to Parish.

Jump to two weeks later, Dani has gone missing, and Hicks is worried out of his mind. This soon leads him to storming out of the building and three weeks later (ya another time jump) on the opposite side of the team. The gang are confused by Hick's actions and try to make sense of the situation. Meanwhile with Hicks, he is helping Parish's gang steal weapons, and is taken to their base of operations. There Hick's loyalty is tested to see if this new persona he is wearing is a trick and if he is a double agent of sorts. Hicks passes the painful test, and soon finds himself face to face with Parish. Hicks wastes no time in asking about Dani's whereabouts, and can tell that something has happened to her. More so, that Parish knows how Dani being a spy for her father.

The Devil Will Drag You Under was a Hicks, Rosen and Dani heavy episode as it dealt with the emotions they were going through before and during the run of the episode. There was the obvious tension between Hicks and Rosen due to their opinions on whats the best for Danielle. Both these men love her very much and want to protect her. I want to also point out that Hicks is very devoted to Dani as well, and its no half done romance either. The writers could have chosen to make Hicks undecided between Dani and Nina, but they didn't. They created this relationship where Hicks and Dani could depend on each other and make each other happy. Which makes the ending of this episode heartbreaking. We also see some character development and motivation in Parish as he lets his master plan unfold.

Now there are some plot holes I wish to address. First is that Dani agreed very easily to taking the deal her father offered. I get that she is getting tired all the deceit in her life, as well as the double sidedness of it as well, but being a double agent for her father is not the solution. Not to mention Parish was the one who saved her in the past, and she easily agreed to spy on him. Hurray for trust. Another plot hole is when Parish's gang easily accept Hicks on their side. It's like they believe no one could betray them due to a control test they know cannot fail. Further more, how did Hicks find them in the first place? So many questions.

We are getting down to the final two episodes of season 2 of Alphas. The Devil Will Drag You Under is giving Rosen and now Hicks more motivation to hunt Parish down, once and for all. Despite the hiccups here and there, this episode was just brilliant. I liked the Dani/Hicks relationship and its cool to see him do anything to get her back. Next week, Life After Death airs. How will the team cope after the events of this episode?

Alphas 'Falling': The Girls Are Not Fine

Kat undercover.
After the shocking revelation of last episode, Rosen soon finds his mind on other things in Falling as the team take on a case with a drug that can temporarily turn people into alphas. Falling is Kat's moment to shine as she takes the step into the undercover world. Heads up before we go any further, giving a spoiler alert to anyone who has not seen the previous episodes of Alphas.

It was like a normal day at the office as the team went about to their business. Kat gave Gary a flower for his man-cave, Gary protested saying it had bugs. You know, the usual stuff. Then a case comes in with human gaining alpha abilities from a unknown drug with one case of actual death. The team sets out to investigate, while Rosen deals with the issue of his daughter possibly being the  traitor on the inside. With Rosen doing other things, Bill takes over and gets Gary to do the research on the case. Gary finds that Kat has a connection to the man they're investigating and after much discussion, Kat is sent in undercover. Kat discovers that this man knows a bit about her past and Kat desperately wants to know, so she connects with the target. Elsewhere, Rosen is doing his own investigation into his daughter to see proof that she is not the inside man on their team.

Falling was really about the situations these people are thrown in. More importantly, what situations did Kat and Danielle get themselves in. Kat doesn't really know much about herself other than what she learned in the month, and then she meets this guy who knows more about her than she does. Danielle feels indebted to Parish and is loyal to him, despite him being enemies with her father. In typical Alphas fashion, it sets out to show that the people in the world of Alphas are more human than super. A beautiful moment was the inner turmoil in Rosen when he realized that Dani was the traitor, and something needed to be done. Rosen was a father first and then a leader later. Kat had a situation too when she realized she was being used.

Falling was the emotional journey more than anything else. Other than Gary's outburst about Kat bringing in bugs with the flower, Falling was humorless with a touch of being a bit dark. As it forced as a few characters, the others were simply thrown in the back. I kinda wished that Rosen spoke to Hicks about the Dani situation and her connection to Parish before acting. Also wish Rachel would lighten up a bit, and try to be positive.

Falling was an emotional journey for Rosen's team, but mostly for Rosen and Kat themselves. The question is now, what will Kat and Dani do now with their situations? Will the relationship between Rosen and Hicks be affected by this? Either way, Alphas is beginning to swing into its end game as the episode dwindle down till the season finale of Alphas. Next episode is The Devil Will Drag You Under. I wonder who this is referring to.

Alphas "Gods and Monsters": The Game Is Only Beginning

Oh how Alphas knows how to set the bar, and Gods and Monsters was a good example. The battle between Rosen and Parish takes another step as they are both forced to play their hands. This episode was very much had a cause and effect thing going on here.

Rosen is still looking for the leak in the group while he and Nina use the senator to destroy Parish's machines. Back at the office, Rosen gets a case of students disappearing in the school where Jason Miller (the coma kid from Gaslight) goes to school. Rosen realizes it must be related to Jason's alpha ability, and that he is creating an extension of his mind by placing it in other people. Thus putting them in the same wavelength. Elsewhere Parish is making is own plans and decides its time to meet with Rosen again. The two meet in the school of Jason as Parish saves Rosen from being shot. Rosen soon finds himself working with Parish to find and help Jason.

Gods and Monsters was really a game in itself between Rosen and Parish. I mean both have a goal and are willing to do anything to achieve it. Look at the Senator Rosen has Nina pushed, she nearly got run over and was later sent to a hospital. On the other side, Parish's experiment with Jason didn't go as planned and Parish is forced to act. Both Rosen manage to surprise the other side in a different way. Rosen even manages to figure out who the leak is since its [SPOILER].

There was really nothing going wrong in Gods and Monsters as it was such a great episode. I love the contrast between Rosen and Parish that is pointed out. Well Parish point out how both have different goals, but similar means. Could this mean in the future we could see Rosen go over the edge or is it Parish just messing with Rosen? Gods and Monsters also got really intense with some scenes that made me go "wow" at the screen. Especially the scene where Parish is imprisoned within Rosen' building. You know what I mean when you see it.

Gods and Monsters is has nicely set up the ending arc of the season and I look forward to seeing where Alphas takes us. Next week, Falling airs. Could it be a fall from grace hmmm?

Looking At Alphas "Alphaville"

What an episode Alphaville was! Alphaville was a real game changer for Alphas as Rosen continued his search for what Parish's ultimate end game was. To make it more of a treat, Alphas saw the return of Summer Glau as Skylar Adams. Now lets take a lookie.

Following up on on the previous episode, Rosen decides to track down Skylar for her help on figuring out what the device Rosen found really does and how it fits into Parish's ultimate alpha plan. So the team pack up on and leave for the boonies. This is where Danielle, Rosen's daughter, kicks in. Since Hicks is dating her, he tells her the plans unknowingly giving away their plan. Since the moment the relationship between the two was revealed back in Wake Up Call, we all knew this was going to happen at some point. This causes Parish to send his own little team after the gang.

Back to the plot, the team eventually finds Skylar in a town where everyone is an alpha. They are not welcomed with open arms though due to the gang being outsiders. Then the pebble is in the air when an alpha tells Rosen that Rosen's speech about alphas ruined his life.  As much as Rosen wished to do good, he also inflicted harm as people who were living in secret about their abilities were thrown out of their everyday lives. I mean, what did Rosen really get other than making Parish and the government angry with him? Rosen's intentions were noble, but were they really thought though? I feel if I say anymore I'm going to give the episode away.

Alphaville, I feel is one the stronger episodes of season 2 of Alphas. It has touching moments, action, and new twists that just keep you on your toes. It also poses questions like, What will happen to Rachel now? Will Danielle choose a side? Will Rosen figure out who the leak is in the gang? Will Gary ever find a place of his own? Alphaville is really just a showcase of what I love about Alphas.

Next week, Gods and Monsters airs. What an ominous title.

Looking At Alphas "Gaslight"

It looks like Alphas went on the creepy side this week as Gaslight took Rosen's team through a seemly haunted hospital. Well not haunted, but the atmosphere of one as the team faced their worst nightmares. Gaslight also marked the return of Nina and the beginning of her attempt to reconcile with those she hurt. Nina works with Rosen to figure out what Staton Parish is up to.

So in Gaslight, Rosen, Hicks and Harken are deployed to the hospital to help a troubled alpha who is seeing and hearing his dead sister. Just as everything seems to be fine, the alpha escapes and the search for him begins. The situation turns towards the creepy as Rachel is grabbed by the alpha, and the team becomes separated. Each person sees different things and the phase "I'm drowning" appears. With this, it marks the return of Anna as she appears in front of Gary. Unlike when she was alive, Anna can speak and talks with Gary. Gary knows shes not real, but enjoys her company anyways. As for everyone else, Bill fights himself, Hicks sees his son heading to the morgue, and Rachel sees Nina attempting to kill her. In a way, these events brought out the most primal fears and worries for alphas.

Other than the hospital, Nina and Rosen were on a mission of their own as Rosen asks Nina to use her ability on a Senator connected to Parish. I begin to worry for Rosen and his obsession as he heads head first after his target. He asked Nina to help him, when he should have been helping her recover from her crime spree. I feel that this could be the rise and fall of Rosen. This could be what Parish wanted in the first place. I do know that Parish needs to be stopped, but I'm wondering how far will Rosen go to do it.

Another good episode from Alphas though as I felt it developed the characters for Gary and Rosen. The question is now, what is Staton Parish really up to?

Alphas Gaslight Sneak Peak

Looks like things are going to be getting tripy in Gaslight. The basic summary of this week's episode of Alphas is that Rachel gets kidnapped by a man who is in a coma. Which makes me wonder if he is an alpha (but I think I know he is one), and is his power to control dead bodies? I only assume that due to the clip below.

I don't think words can even describe the intense feeling I'm getting from this episode. Well I only got that from watching the clips below, and Alphas seems to never disappoint me. How this episode will play out, only Monday can tell.

Clips below.

Looking At Aphas "When Push Comes To Shove"

Cameron finds Nina.
This weeks of Alphas showcase of the AWOL Nina as she loses control of her self and begins causing trouble around town. When Push Comes To Shove gives the audience a bit of Nina's history as well as her mentality. I love how Alphas didn't screw around with other false leads and that Rosen just knew it was Nina. Not to mention the fact that Rosen has this like fatherly bond with Nina and wants to protect her and help her. When Push Comes To Shove does an excellent job of showing Rosen's devotion of wanting to help Alphas as it shows with his relationship with Nina.

So lets sum up When Push Comes To Shove in a non spoilery way. Rosen's Team gets word of an Alpha going around taking money and jewels. Due to Nina's history and signs of her ability, Rosen comes to the conclusion that Nina is behind it all. So the team sets out to find Nina and bring her to Rosen. They do find her at a club, but the results aren't good when Nina uses her ability on the team. There is more to the story than just find Nina, as Rachel also begins to change as she asks out John Bennett on a date. We also get more details on what Nina did to Cameron. I mean all we know is that she pushed him and thats it. Kat made her appearance as she got help from Dr. Rosen and she was another pair of eyes who could see outside the box. I look forward to seeing how Kat's character evolves and how Rosen figures out to help her keep her memory.

When Push Comes To Shove is a very strong episode as it forces all the characters to treat a friend like a criminal. It shows what lengths Nina will go to for her happiness and how she doesn't like people adverting their eyes from her. In a way When Push Comes To Shove is basically about the human relationships the characters want and have. The question is now, how will Nina redeem herself and go back to the way she was? Only next episode will tell.

Alphas- When Push Comes to Shove Sneak Peak

Rachel finds Nina.
Sorry about last week and not posting about the episode. I was on vacation, and missed the episode. Although it was great as some characters went through a change and a new character Kat was introduced. The question now is, will Kat appear in When Push Comes To Shove?

This week's coming episode looks like we are going to see the return of Nina. The team follows a trail of Alpha related crimes and it appears like Nina might be the culprit. Thus they begin their search for their former teammate. The question is, how far gone is Nina? Will she turn on her friends? Who is this man who appears in the clip below that Nina seems to be close to? Watch the clip below and generate some idea.

Alphas airs on Mondays @ 10pm on Syfy and Space.

Alphas- Alpha Dog Sneak Peak

It looks like the new alpha is entering the scene. In Alpha Dog, Hicks and Harken investigate an underground alpha fight club. In typical Alphas fashion though, there is more to this episode than just investigating an fight club.

Will answer the questions the last episode asked? What happened to Nina? How is Dr. Rosen dealing with Hick dating his daughter? What will Stanton Parish do next or appear in some new conspiracy? Will Gary get his shelf back?

Clip below.

By the way, next week's postings will be a bit late since I will be on vacation. Expect postings by the end of next week.

Looking at Alphas "The Quick and the Dead"

The Team coming to Rosen's Recuse.
Following the previous episode Wake Up Call, the team that went its separate ways was put together again. The Quick and the Dead shows us that Rosen's team can't just simply go back to the way everything was before Rosen was arrested and sent to a mental institution. The government hasn't completely forgiven Rosen either as they stay on the same floor as the team.

What makes Alphas great is that it never forgets the human issues of the show and how it affects them and their work. With the government in the building, Gary is having an issue with them messing up his schedule and stealing his shelf. Due to his autism, it causes Gary to lash out violently. In a way this shows the attitude the government has to alphas has the workers don't make any effort to work with Gary's autism. Bill is having some small issues with dealing with Rosen back in charge and doing things his own way. Rosen himself is dealing with the conspiracy theory that is Stanton Parish.

The large issue is shown when Nina finally decides to show up at work and tries to make amends for she did to Hicks and trys to get back together, but is angered to found out that Hicks is seeing someone. This pushes Nina over the edge (even worse when she finds out that it's Rosen's daughter) and she leaves the team. Nina basically goes off the grid.

Aside from the people issues, the team deal with a case of an alpha who can move at fast speeds and is one of the escaped alphas from Binghamton. Rosen eventually figures out that this alpha has a connection to Stanton Parish, and makes Rosen realize there is a much bigger game here afoot. I sense a story arc starting.

For now the team is glued to together but the cracks are still showing. Nina has left the team and actually pushed Dr. Rosen which will be another issue the team will deal with. In addition to Rosen just finding out about Hicks and his daughter. In my opinion, this episode was great and it showed that nothing was going to be the same other than helping other troubled alphas. I can foresee though that these cracks in the team are going to grow bigger.

Alphas- The Quick and the Dead Sneak Peak

The next Alphas episode is coming up soon this Monday. I'm glad to see that some television shows are running during the Olympics, and Alphas can prove its one of the shows that can survive it. This Monday Alphas returns with The Quick and the Dead as the team hunts for a killer with super-speed whose mission to find the truth may lead to deadly consequences.

What do you think will happen this episode other than a really fast alpha appearing? Will more of the team's issues come up? Is Gary really ok? Only the episode can tell. Sneak Peak below.

Looking at: Alphas "Wake Up Call"

After its explosive finale, Alphas return 8 months later and Dr. Rosen is locked up in a mental institution. The team itself has been separated and gone their own ways leaving Bill and Hicks behind. Rachel has quit the team and is now living solely in her bedroom. Nina went her own way too, she and Hicks broke up and Nina began relaying on her push ability. Gary was lent out to the NSA, but to them not understanding his disability, Gary got sent to Binghamton.

Now Alphas is not just about a group of people who are superheroes, but people who have abilities and problems. We see this in every single character of Rosen's group. Rachel can't sleep anymore due to her hearing ability and doesn't trust anyone but Rosen. Nina is slowly losing control of herself as she falls into bad habits as she frequently uses her push ability. Hicks is slowly losing control of his ability as seen when he shoots a parking meter. Bill has heart problems so he can't push himself too hard. Gary loses sense of reality due to his schedule not being kept. Dr. Rosen, well he is forced to hold onto the hope that one day he will be let out. Which he does due to an unstable situation at Binghamton.

I'm not going to delve into the episode too much since I don't want to give too much away. Although you can expect that Alphas will be bringing the team back together in the end in a manner that suits where season 2 is heading. Although Rosen manages to take the situation and get some control in the way alphas are treated, which was why he first revealed the existence of alphas.  Season 2 will bring us the hunt for the escaped alphas.

So what will Alphas Season 2 brings us? How will Rosen deal with the alphas who are dangerous? How and when will the new alpha arrive? Will everything go back to normal for the Rosen team? Promo trailer below.

Alphas Season 2 Premiere Sneak Peak

Season 2 Cast.
With the premiere of Season 2 coming this Monday, Syfy released a sneak peak of the upcoming episode. Alphas Season 2 takes place months after Rosen revealed the existence of Alphas to the world. The official synopsis says this:
The second season picks up eight months following the season finale at the prison facility in Binghamton after Dr. Lee Rosen (David Strathairn) exposed the existence of Alphas to an unsuspecting public. Instead of helping to open these special people up for public support, Rosen instead is discredited and imprisoned by the government. In the meantime, his team has disbanded, and several of them have gone back to their old destructive ways.
Not to mention they have a bunch of guest stars coming their way. Season 2 will see the return of Summer Glau as she reprises her role of Skylar Adams. For the list visit SciFiCool. I leave you with the sneak peak for Season 2.

Alphas Season 2 Trailer

As we go deeper into the summer, more premiere of summer programming draws near. The one in question today is Syfy's Alphas and its second season. Season 2 will premiere July 23, 2012 at 10pm on Syfy. As I mentioned in my Alphas review, Alphas is an incredible show and has potential to go for a while. I am looking forward to the second season of Alphas myself.

So after the events of Season 1, the team has been split up and Dr. Rosen imprisoned. With him gone, the team soon fall into their previous bad habits. There has been some clips released online hinting on Gary being imprisoned as well, but don't worry, it look like Bill is going to try and bust him out.

Summer Programing On It's Way

Alphas, The Listener, Haven, and White Collar.
With all the prime time shows finishing up their seasons, and giving their actors a break, its time for the summer tv season to begin. This is the time in the year where tv networks release their programs that took second to the Prime time ones. It doesn't mean that they are absolutely terrible. It just means they are not going to get a much larger audience than the September - May programming. In the summer, people tend to go on vacation and miss their favorite show. Which is why some shows received the move to September in hopes of a larger audience. So lets take a lookie then.

The Listener- The Canadian paranormal drama returns to tv June 30, 2012 with a third season. We see Toby once again using his gift to help people and stepping away from being a paramedic. I am interested in where this season will go since the success of Season 2. This whole season will probably be underlined by the fact that Toby's mind could shut down at any moment due to the events of the season finale. It also has been teased that there will be a Flashpoint crossover this season.

Alphas- The Syfy show about a team of people with alpha abilities return July 23, 2012 with a second season. Despite being called a Heroes knockoff, I think this show has great potential. It has been said that this show will pick up after the events of the finale. With Rosen imprisoned, we can expect to see some misbehaving alphas, among some new ones as well.

White Collar- The USA show about an FBI agent and a former con man working together will return with its fourth season in July 10, 2012. I normally don't like cop shows, but this one has won my heart with its style, characters, humor and Matt Bomer. I am looking forward to seeing Neal in his criminal ways this season due to the previous events of last season's finale. In short, I want to see some Neal antics.

Moving to September

Doctor Who- Since its revival in 2005, Doctor Who has since aired in the summer, but this year, Moffat decided to move it to the fall. At least Who fans don't have to worry about missing the show while on holidays. In its seventh season, the Doctor is going to have to say good bye to the Pond. In my earlier posts, there are some spoilers about that too. At Christmas, we will be introduced to a new companion.

Haven- For the last two seasons, Haven has aired in the summer, but Syfy decided to bank on it and moved it to the fall. The third season will pick up right where it left off when Nathan and Duke in their stand off, and Audrey missing. I would like to see the Nathan and Audrey relationship explored, but we all know something is going to happen and their going to break up. And then make up. And repeat. Let's see where the writers go with Haven in the fall.

Did I miss something? Then check out Tv.com's summer list. See, summer television ain't so bad.

Alphas: Not The Average Show

Cast of Alphas.
You can always tell a show is going to be good when its first season starts off strong. Alphas is a Syfy show with an 11 episode season that first aired in 2011. What makes it unique is that it's not about a group of people with superpowers, but humans with exceptional abilities. Each ability comes with its down side and each person has their own story. The characters have their own back story and how their alpha ability effects them.

Alphas is about simply about a group of alphas gathered together to work with Dr. Rosen. Together they work to stop crimes committed by other alphas. So under the care of psychologist Dr. Lee Rosen, 5 alphas work on solving cases for the US Department of defense. Alphas on Rosen's team are Gary (an autistic man who can see signals), Bill (heighten flight or fight response), Cameron (hyperkensis), Rachel (heighten five senses), and Nina (Hyper Induction). Each of them, like any good character has faults, background and a unique quality to the group. There is even a romance between Cameron and Nina that is played with.

Now the universe of the Alphas is very interesting. The world itself is not different from today with the exception of Alphas. It makes the world Alphas create seem like society today and if you think about it, wouldn't society be like that if alphas truly existed? Like any real scenario, there is always the extremist group, which in this case is Red Flag. Red Flag believes that alphas are the solution and are meant to be. This group takes a strong presence in the storyline of season 1.

Storyline is what keeps a good show going along with good dialog and characters. Alphas employs all three. With season 2 airing sometime this year, it will be very interesting to see where this show goes. Although not all episodes in this season are hard hitting. If you want to catch a glimpse of Alphas, Syfy I think runs episodes off the site, otherwise, Space plays the odd episode here and there. Not to mention the odd marathon as well. Promo below.
