Alphas 'Falling': The Girls Are Not Fine

Kat undercover.
After the shocking revelation of last episode, Rosen soon finds his mind on other things in Falling as the team take on a case with a drug that can temporarily turn people into alphas. Falling is Kat's moment to shine as she takes the step into the undercover world. Heads up before we go any further, giving a spoiler alert to anyone who has not seen the previous episodes of Alphas.

It was like a normal day at the office as the team went about to their business. Kat gave Gary a flower for his man-cave, Gary protested saying it had bugs. You know, the usual stuff. Then a case comes in with human gaining alpha abilities from a unknown drug with one case of actual death. The team sets out to investigate, while Rosen deals with the issue of his daughter possibly being the  traitor on the inside. With Rosen doing other things, Bill takes over and gets Gary to do the research on the case. Gary finds that Kat has a connection to the man they're investigating and after much discussion, Kat is sent in undercover. Kat discovers that this man knows a bit about her past and Kat desperately wants to know, so she connects with the target. Elsewhere, Rosen is doing his own investigation into his daughter to see proof that she is not the inside man on their team.

Falling was really about the situations these people are thrown in. More importantly, what situations did Kat and Danielle get themselves in. Kat doesn't really know much about herself other than what she learned in the month, and then she meets this guy who knows more about her than she does. Danielle feels indebted to Parish and is loyal to him, despite him being enemies with her father. In typical Alphas fashion, it sets out to show that the people in the world of Alphas are more human than super. A beautiful moment was the inner turmoil in Rosen when he realized that Dani was the traitor, and something needed to be done. Rosen was a father first and then a leader later. Kat had a situation too when she realized she was being used.

Falling was the emotional journey more than anything else. Other than Gary's outburst about Kat bringing in bugs with the flower, Falling was humorless with a touch of being a bit dark. As it forced as a few characters, the others were simply thrown in the back. I kinda wished that Rosen spoke to Hicks about the Dani situation and her connection to Parish before acting. Also wish Rachel would lighten up a bit, and try to be positive.

Falling was an emotional journey for Rosen's team, but mostly for Rosen and Kat themselves. The question is now, what will Kat and Dani do now with their situations? Will the relationship between Rosen and Hicks be affected by this? Either way, Alphas is beginning to swing into its end game as the episode dwindle down till the season finale of Alphas. Next episode is The Devil Will Drag You Under. I wonder who this is referring to.
