Summer Programing On It's Way

Alphas, The Listener, Haven, and White Collar.
With all the prime time shows finishing up their seasons, and giving their actors a break, its time for the summer tv season to begin. This is the time in the year where tv networks release their programs that took second to the Prime time ones. It doesn't mean that they are absolutely terrible. It just means they are not going to get a much larger audience than the September - May programming. In the summer, people tend to go on vacation and miss their favorite show. Which is why some shows received the move to September in hopes of a larger audience. So lets take a lookie then.

The Listener- The Canadian paranormal drama returns to tv June 30, 2012 with a third season. We see Toby once again using his gift to help people and stepping away from being a paramedic. I am interested in where this season will go since the success of Season 2. This whole season will probably be underlined by the fact that Toby's mind could shut down at any moment due to the events of the season finale. It also has been teased that there will be a Flashpoint crossover this season.

Alphas- The Syfy show about a team of people with alpha abilities return July 23, 2012 with a second season. Despite being called a Heroes knockoff, I think this show has great potential. It has been said that this show will pick up after the events of the finale. With Rosen imprisoned, we can expect to see some misbehaving alphas, among some new ones as well.

White Collar- The USA show about an FBI agent and a former con man working together will return with its fourth season in July 10, 2012. I normally don't like cop shows, but this one has won my heart with its style, characters, humor and Matt Bomer. I am looking forward to seeing Neal in his criminal ways this season due to the previous events of last season's finale. In short, I want to see some Neal antics.

Moving to September

Doctor Who- Since its revival in 2005, Doctor Who has since aired in the summer, but this year, Moffat decided to move it to the fall. At least Who fans don't have to worry about missing the show while on holidays. In its seventh season, the Doctor is going to have to say good bye to the Pond. In my earlier posts, there are some spoilers about that too. At Christmas, we will be introduced to a new companion.

Haven- For the last two seasons, Haven has aired in the summer, but Syfy decided to bank on it and moved it to the fall. The third season will pick up right where it left off when Nathan and Duke in their stand off, and Audrey missing. I would like to see the Nathan and Audrey relationship explored, but we all know something is going to happen and their going to break up. And then make up. And repeat. Let's see where the writers go with Haven in the fall.

Did I miss something? Then check out Tv.com's summer list. See, summer television ain't so bad.
