Alphas God's Eye: Everything Changes Now

The finale of Alphas has come and gone as like the previous finale, the stakes have been raised once again and the world of Alphas has been turned upside down again. This will also be my final review for Alphas this year since I have recently taken up writing a lot of television reviews recently. Back onto the topic of Alphas, God's Eye left the season on a cliff hanger and it is still unknown whether Alphas has been renewed yet for a third season.

For the majority of God's Eye, it focused on an injured Rosen who was desperately looking for Parish throughout New York city. If you think about it the whole season arced towards this episode and the standoff between Parish and Rosen. In addition the last few episodes, Rosen's determination to stop Parish has increased to a point where Rosen beginning to hallucinate his dead daughter Dani. Dani served as Rosen's thinking side while Rosen was injured and experiencing blood loss. So Rosen basically walks around the city mumbling to himself and eventually figures out that Parish is Grand Station.

Back with the team, they are working around the clock to find Rosen and to stop Parish's plot. Due to an accidental murder in the tunnels, Kat figures out that the very thing they were installing to stop Parish was actually a weapon Parish had Skylar create for him. Which reminds me, Summer Glau was back as Skylar and was helping the team stop Parish's master plan. Which is to kill of all non-alphas save Rosen. This takes us to the human side of Alphas as relationships build up again. This gives us cute scenes between Nina and Hicks, in addition to Rachel and her boyfriend. The character that stood out the most was Gary as he was finally given some decent character development. Gary shows some backbone by saying no to Rosen and telling Rosen that he will help Rosen this time. Woo hoo go Gary. The gang soon figures out that Parish and his team of baddies are at Grand Station and head there.

God's Eye really did focus on general character development for a few characters as well as facing the problem that Parish represented.  As I mentioned above, Rosen was a large focus of the episode as God's Eye played with Rosen's determination of going after Parish. In Season 1, Rosen would have never done something like this. The same could be said about the first half of season 2, as Rosen really didn't have motivation to go full on after Parish. After Dani's death, Rosen just snapped. The ending of God's Eye, really said something about his character. I also liked Gary's character development this episode as he connected with his mother and become more sure about himself. Something else Alphas does well is that it doesn't simple forget something and this was seen with Kat and her anger at the team for not telling her about their plan.

Now God's Eye wasn't perfect as it did leave some things open it probably should have. But no fears, if season 3 happens, it can fix those. First issue of the article is, well basically Kat. As we all know, Kat only can remember things for a month and then she forgets. So are we to assume that basically everything after meeting Kat happened in a month? Ugh television show timelines. As for Rosen, I kinda wish that he at least hit Parish or something instead just glaring at him. Another loose end is the Bill fight club story, as it was just shoved to the side and forgotten about. I really hope that Alphas addresses this at some point.

Now season 2 of Alphas was decent overall and God's Eye finishes off the arc of the war between Parish and Rosen. We saw some characters come out of their comfort zone as well as others fall down to new lows. It is every bit of the human drama you can expect it to be. As for word on season 3, only time (and Syfy) can tell.

This ends the Alpha reviews for the year. You can check out my other reviews of Arrow, Supernatural and Beauty and the Beast during the week.
