Japanese Media Industry Lauch Anti-piracy effort

Is banning anime on the internet really the right move? The Japanese media ban together in order to stop videos leaking online the internet. Combined together, the Content Overseas Distribution Association will search for videos posted without authorization. When they find it, they will demand that the site admin remove the material that was not authorized. NHK news reported that 38, 000 Japanese videos are distributed without any permission every month.

With this, it will stop people viewing Japanese media online and it reaching around the world itself. This can push people into buying the DVD to watch the anime. More money for them right? But is it more negative than positive? For more information on it go to: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2009-10-26/japanese-industry-launches-global-anti-piracy-effort.

I am against this despite the fact that I live in North America but at the same time it is because I live here. Have you ever wondered how animes get so famous? It is because people watch it online and enjoy it. Then they wait for it to come to North America to be dubbed. Even when it hasn't been dubbed, we still buy the products from overseas. So why ban anime and loss out on money from crazy North American anime fans. In addition, there becomes more of a demand for animes to be dubbed. Really against it.

Also, from viewing and downloading anime, it can fuel creativity. For amv artists on Youtube, we download our favorite anime and make music videos with them. We view animes that have not been dubbed yet and use it in videos. Imagine the quality of videos you would find without animes that arn't released in North America yet? It would just suck and be boring.

In the end, I believe the Japanese are really losing out on the international market if they start shutting down anime videos on sites. Speaking from an anime fan point of view, don't be stupid, and give us our anime.
