The manga cover are of the top three best selling manga, in order (left to right) this week.

2. Rosario + Vampire vol. 9
3. Yu-gi-oh! R vol. 1
4. Chibi Vampire vol. 14
5. Vampire Kisses vol. 3 Blood Relatives
6. Full Metal Alchemist vol. 20
7. Skip Beat vol. 19
8. Battle Angel Alita: Last Order vol. 12
9. Bleach vol. 28
10. One Piece: Hope!! vol. 22

Listed in the New York Times , these top 10 manga were listed at the end of the week of October 17, 2009. But what is the element that keeps making these manga rise above all the other manga out there?

Well first of all, most of these have an anime out that is either airing in Japan and/or North America. It is a fact I have noticed that popular animes with manga will become popular. The most popular I gotta say is Bleach and Naruto. They both have animes and are ridiculously long in both manga and anime.

Another fact is that on the list (visit: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2009-10-23/new-york-times-manga-best-seller-list-october-11-17), most of the publishers are Viz Media and a couple few by Tokyopop. In fact the top three are viz media. Very interesting.

It is no surprise that Naruto is in the top spot, for some reason people really like that show and manga. For me, it has been going on for too long. Once upon a time I used to like it, but I soon found out that more than half the how was fillers (episodes that don't effect the story). Which kinda made me mad, but I still watch the movies and read the manga when I get bored.
