Beauty and the Beast 'Trapped': Dear Diary.....Time To Spill My Soul

After last episode episode of Out of Control, I had high expectations for Trapped, but Beauty and the Beast lost itself again within the plot lines. It wasn't completely terrible though like Basic Instinct, there are some let downs plot wise as Beauty and the Beast focused on Vincent and Catherine's relationship. Also we saw the return of the cheesey opening lines again, but BatB didn't completely ruin their opening. I don't know why, I'm liking these openings for BatB and how it explains just enough. Then again, it's showcasing everything that really matters. Which is obviously Catherine and Vincent (sorry I ship them). Without further ado, let's begin.

As usual, the story begins with the victim, or rather intended victim when a superstar is almost killed by an assassin. Thus bringing his case to Catherine and Tess, who interrogate the singer and his manager. The manger soon reveals that the singer has indeed been getting a lot of hate mail that he doesn't know about. On the other side of the city, Vincent and JT are researching ways to help Vincent with his fugue states. So their solution, drug Vincent so he stays calm, but it doesn't appear to last long as he quickly snaps out of it and his flashback telling JT Catherine's mom was indeed involved with Murfield. Surprised by this, JT suggests they tell Catherine, but Vincent wants to keep her out of it for her own safety.

So JT texts Catherine, who leaves the annoying singer with Tess, who is just as annoyed with him as we are. At their place, Vincent informs her that her mother was the one who created Vincent, but Vincent is surprised that Catherine isn't too surprised (she had known her mother had ties to Murfield back in Basic Instinct). To find out more they drug Vincent again, who goes back to flashback land where he finds out more about the side affects and something that could help him.

Now Trapped wasn't up to par with Out of Control, but it was no where near Beauty and the Beast's lowest moment. What really stood out this episode was once again the relationship between Catherine and Vincent as they worked together to fix their current problem. Catherine really was willing to do anything to help Vincent, even if it meant covering up what happened in Out of Control or helping TJ to break into the morgue. The moment that stood out the most was the very last scene between Catherine and Vincent as they met near her mother's grave. Vincent is now more positive about himself and his self control as he takes this chance to get closer to Catherine (he actually smiles). I could gush on and on about how cute it was, but O have some self control. A side note, another scene that was mildly entertaining was when Tess took the singer boy to the morgue (he kept bugging her about it), and puked when he saw the body. Tess and the audience were basically like, "you asked for it".

Now as much as Vincent and Catherine were cute together, Trapped paid a price for that. As we suspect, BatB will forever be charged with balancing the crime plot and the romance plot with each episode, but will sometime hit it off right. In addition to teaching Catherine something to apply to her case and to Vincent. With Trapped's crime plot, it was really basic and the bad guy literally wrote, "I'm gonna kill him" (paraphrasing here). Um "X" marks the spot anyone? The same thing kinda happened with Catherine's mother's journal as it basically had all the answers to their problems. Although I'm not complaining about Vincent being able to control his blackouts in order to be with Catherine. Also speaking of the annoying singer kid, wasn't he annoying? In addition to, didn't the assassin kinda suck? If your gonna pay big bucks for a killer, he should have failed the first time.

So now that everything is ok with Vincent, he and Catherine can get closer, right? Not only that will Tess begin to ask questions of where Catherine is going all the time? I am hoping that Beauty and the Beast will answer this in their mid season finale next week when Beauty and the Beast returns with Bridesmaid-Up!. Although the character to watch besides Catherine and Vincent, is Evan, he is no longer in the love-triangle (thank god) as he continues to dig into what happened that night. As I mentioned before, he could become an ally or enemy to Catherine and Vincent.

Did you love the final scene of Trapped? Are you glad that JT is finally for good on team Catherine?
