Once Upon A Time: A Tale For All Ages

The cast of Once Upon A Time.
When you hear fairy tales, your brain usually associates it with children stories and good verses evil. Once Upon A Time takes all that and makes it a compelling show to watch. Even the theory of it sound interesting and gathers attention. Once Upon A Time takes the fairy tales we know and love and gives it a twist of its own. Between that and two love/hate bad guys, Once Upon A Time has a formula for success. Once Upon A Time currently has aired only one season so far, but is returning this fall for a second season.

So other than fairy tales coming to life, what is Once Upon A Time about? It is about a town filled with fairy tale character who are cursed and cannot remember their past lives. Not only that, but they can never leave town and time has stopped in Storybrooke. But how did it happen? Well since the Evil Queen was unhappy, she decided that no one else should be happy and decided to take away all their happy endings. Like a every evil plan, there is a loop hole. The loophole's name is Emma Swan, the daughter of Prince Charming and Snow White. Only Emma can break the curse, but theres a problem. She doesn't believe.

Even though Emma is the central title character, Once Upon A Time doesn't drive it's whole focus on her. It has an excellent collection of characters, and uses them in the best way possible. Once Upon A Time gives each character his or her moment to shine and develop even more. Using the fairy tale world and the world in Storybrooke to tell the character's tale before and current in addition to develop them. You also learn what drives them, which is the particular case with the Evil Queen. This causes you to either love or hate the characters.

As I mentioned before, Once Upon A Time has taken some liberties with the fairy tale characters so it would fit into their storyline. Luckily for them, it works very well. viewers are not tuning in to see something told before, but something new and interesting. So whether its killing off the fairy godmother or changing who the beast is, it works.

In short, Once Upon A Time is an excellent show. It's the kind of show that families can sit down and watch and enjoy together. Fairy tales has no age limit, and all ages can relate and enjoy the show. Once Upon A Time has the potential to be a great show. Although I am worried how long can it go before its material begins to go stale? There is such a thing as over doing it. With negative thoughts aside, I'm going to sit back and wait for season two to come. Promo below.
