Soul Eater Episode release
Last Friday, Funimation released 4 full length episodes of the anime Soul Eater. The first two episodes themselves were released onto youtube on Funimation's youtube channel. When all four episodes are loaded there, watch it there because funimation's player is not so good. I personally like the youtube player. On animenewsnetwork, it was announced that Soul Eater Season 1 part 1 will be released in Febuary 9, 2010. This is the first thirteen episodes of the series.
In episode1 you meet Soul Eater, Maka, Death Scythe, the Grim Reaper and Blair. The voice sound very good and I have no complaints. Special note, Vic Mignoga, is death scythe. He is on my list of very good voice actors. His character this time is a protective, perverted father and a death scythe. It looks like hes doing a good job. On the newbie actor for Soul Eater, hes doing the part well, only thing I want to pick on, is that he can pick a little more emotion up.
In episode 2, you meet Blackstar and Tsubaki. This is where the most questions will pop up. Is Black Star's voice really ok? At times the voice suits it and the other times, it sounds like a girl. Keep in mind that it is a girl voicing him. It really depends on what you think and if you accept it or not.
In episode 3, you meet Death the Kid and the twins. No problems about Todd doing the voice of Death the Kid. Only issue I got is with the dubbing the Liz. Its okay, but it doesn't feel right. Like when she is yelling, I don't feel the emotion behind it. I'm not sure if the actress is doing this on purpose or not, it just doesn't seem right. Although, it was nice to watch Death the Kid's crazy habits again.
In episode 4, don't meet anyone new, but you meet Sid again, but this time hes a zombie. This episode shows Maka and Blackstar fighting together so they won't get expelled from the school they are at.
I didn't watch the full episodes due to I didn't have much time, I just watched bits and parts. But from what I saw, the above thoughts is what I came up with.
