About: Levitation, telekinesis, the ability to control nature, even predict the future... since she was two years old, Bo has had gifts she could neither fully understand nor control. Raised by a small group known as the "True Believers," the orphaned girl has been safeguarded from harmful outsiders who would use her forces for personal gain. But now that she is 10, her powers have become stronger, and the threat has grown more dangerous.
With her life and future now in jeopardy, the "Believers" turn to the only person they see fit to be her full-time protector. That is, once they break him out of jail. Tate, a wrongfully imprisoned death row inmate who's lost his will, is initially reluctant - until he witnesses one of her extraordinary abilities. Bo sees people for who they truly are... and who they may become.
Tate and Bo begin their journey, one in which trust must be earned. Traveling from city to city, every place they stop and everyone they meet will be changed forever. But they'll have to keep going to stay one step ahead of the sinister forces after Bo's power... because it will take a miracle to keep them safe forever.
Our Opinion: Despite being one of the many produced shows by JJ Abarms, Believe has a strong concept to succeed. Although we're probably not going to see it until mid-season since NBC has not booked an time slot for Believe just yet. What got me interested in Believe was the very premise of the show. The idea of a young girl with abilities being hunted and has to trust an unlikely hero for protection. This unlikely hero just happens to be a falsely imprisoned man named Tate to protect the girl. I am really interested to see how Believe plays with that idea and the interactions between Tate and Bo. Also love the whole traveling from city to city thing as it keeps things fresh and different.
Like any potential to be amazing and new, there is potential is just fall into a flat storyline that audience can't connect to. Believe will hopefully not be like Revolution in the first half of the season and just let it go. Although I can't help but relate Believe a bit to Supernatural with the idea of traveling and helping people.I will be checking out the Pilot for sure when it airs.
You can watch the trailer for the Pilot below.
You can visit NBC's official site for Believe for more information.
Side Note: Pilot Watch is back everyone for the summer! Every Monday I will grab a new series I want to take a look at and see if it's worth seeing. The scorecard for last year:
Revolution: Watched a couple of episodes and lost interest. The plot didn't really connect with me and had a lot of loose ends.See you all next week.
Arrow: Watched the entire season. Great action, characters and story. Will be checking out season 2.
Elementary: Watched one episode. Never really planned on watching from the beginning.
The Following: Watched two episodes. Lost interest.
Beauty and the Beast: Watched entire season. Weak in the beginning but near the end got better. Debating to watch the season 2 due to the ending of season 1.
Score: Watched 2/5
