Pilot Watch: Elementary

Title: Elementary
Cast: Jonny Lee Miller, Lucy Liu, Aidan Quinn
Created By: Rob Doherty
About: A modern-day take on Sherlock Holmes. Just out of rehab, the iconic detective is taking on New York. He’s been assigned to live with his worst nightmare - sober coach, Dr. Joan Watson. Holmes’s unsurpassed skills of deduction and Watson’s medical expertise come together to create a dream team for solving the NYPD’s most impossible cases.

Our Opinion: Elementary has a lot to prove since its not the first modern day Sherlock Holmes to be released. Elementary is going to be compared a lot to its BBC predecessor Sherlock which has been a smash since it aired. Elementary will get a break for those viewers who have not seen Sherlock yet and gain an audience with them. I can admit that I, myself, am a fan of Sherlock and I am very ify with this latest release of yet another Sherlock Holmes media. Elementary is going to have to make itself different and give itself a unique aspect that will set it apart from the rest. You know if Holmes living in New York and Watson is actually a woman isn't enough. I'm not going to judge it, but I'm not going to go out of my way to check Elementary out. It doesn't mean that I'm not watching to watch it at one point to be fair. If you ignore the fact its another Sherlock Holmes, then you get another CBS murder mystery show with a possible comedic side via the Holmess characters. Elementary airs on Thrusdays at 10pm on CBS or Global (if your in Canada). You can decide for yourself, trailer below.

This is the last of Pilot watch. On Friday or Saturday, we will be having a review of Revolution's pilot episode.
