Title: Arrow
Cast: Stephen Amell, Colin Donnell, Katie Cassidy, David Ramsey, Willa Holland, with Susanna Thompson and Paul Blackthorne.
Created By: I think by Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim.
About: After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing
and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a
remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City,
his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend
Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his
ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he's
become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as
the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his
former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those
closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow - a vigilante –
to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and
restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the
role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be -
flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle - while
carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of
darkness. However, Laurel's father, Detective Quentin Lance, is
determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile,
Oliver's own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck
than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine.
Our Opinion: After Smallville you expected this to be a spin off of that series, but I can tell you right now, Arrow is no spin off. Not only does it have a new lead man, but a different story to tell as well. Arrow is also not your happy go lucky hero show as it makes Oliver Queen a much more darker man as the story takes a much grittier tone. As you can see in the trailer, Arrow is no goodie two shoes as he actually kills people who have done wrong. I was first skeptical about Arrow, but now I can't wait for it to air on television. It also helps that it airs on the same day that Supernatural airs (which coincidentally Katie Cassidy also starred in for a season). I am looking forward to watching the pilot for this show as well as the rest of it. The trailer makes me excited to watch it so you should check it out too.

Next week we take a look at CBS's Elementary and I promise to be on my best behavior. As September closes in on us, Pilot Watch will just turn into a post that will tell people whats premiering that week. See you next week.
