50th Anniversary Doctor Who Special Will Be A Biopic

With the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who coming in the new year, fans have been waiting for word of what to expect from it. Will the previous doctors appear? Will it be just one big party? Or another Matt Smith adventure? Well BBC has announced that it will be none of the above. Titled Adventures In Time And Space, the 50th anniversary special will be a 90 minute tv movie.
“This is the story of how an unlikely set of brilliant people created a true television original.” - Mark Gatiss
Adventures In Time And Space will be a biopic that will take place in the sixties and look at how Doctor Who was created. In addition to exploring the highlights of the longest running science fiction series as well as the people who made it happen. Adventures In Time And Space will be penned by Mark Gatiss and produced by Steven Moffat. The tv movie is set to air sometime in 2013.

So are you curious about the special yet? Excited to learn even more about Doctor Who? You have to wonder if it will be like one of those history documentaries with commentary from famous people or an reenactment. I look forward to more spoilers about this and it should be interesting.

For now, you can get your Doctor Who fix with the four new Doctor Who specials airing this year (FYI The Science of Doctor Who has already aired). Preview for the next one below:
