Soul Eater Dub Clips
Above is a picture of the main characters in Soul Eater.
The anime the fans are waiting for is coming this spring 2010. To keep fans pumped Funimation has been releasing dubbed clips of each episode onto the net to grab an audience. It certainly got my attention and very excited to see how the dub is going to sound. Of course they have a big name, Vic Mignogna, as the perverted father. I don't need to explain the cast due to I have already blogged on the cast in previous blogs (check in September).
The first clip shows Soul who is voiced by Miscah Solusod and Maka voiced by Laura Bailey. Heres the link if you want to watch it but I doubt it cause you can't watch it if you live in Canada. Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14Bw24MS458
Soul Eater and Maka's voices seem to really fit them, despite Miscah being new to the job. So I was happy to see that it worked. But boy does he sound like Johnny Yong Bosch! Wish him the best.
The second clip shows Blackstar who is voice by Brittney Karowski and Tsubaki voice by Monica Rial. Yes Blackstar is voiced by a woman and it shows. The link for that one is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vK3SApJHNFM. Monica Rial does a good job in her role and got nothing bad to say. Blackstar's voice on the other hand has its moments. She has got his catch phrase down but it sounds too young. I'm not sure if they made the best choice or not. I am undecided at the moment, they can always change my mind.
The most recent clip is the third and shows Death the Kid who is voice by Todd Haberkorn, Patty who is voiced by Cherami Leigh and Liz voiced by Jamie Marchi. Yup the clips embraces the qualities that make Death the Kid such a lovable character. The link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Li1Huzd87io. I like Todd's and Cherami's voices as their characthers but its Jamie's that just doesn't seem right. I was expecting a more mature voice than a teenage one. Once again they need to prove to me that this is the right choice of voice actor.
Well I am looking forward to next clips and I hope I can watch them despite living in Canada. Looking forward to Vic Mignogna's one.
