Monsters Vs. Aliens Review

When the movie first came out in the theaters, I really wanted to see it. Due to unfortunate events I was unable to and waited for it to come out onto dvd. This past Tuesday, it came out on dvd and I started to bug my family to watch it. And I was victorious! So we rented it and watched it.

So the story is basically starts at Susan's Murphy's (Witherspoon) wedding, then out of the blue she is hit by a meteor. This cause her to grow to a huge size and captured by a army of sorts. She soon learns that she is capture and held because she is a monster. There she meets the missing Link(Arnett), B.O.B(Rogan), Dr. Cockroach(Laurie) and Intectasoarous. Susan doesn't feel like she belongs there and wishes to go back to her old life. Everything is changed though when a giant robot attacks earth. In order to stop this, they deploy the monsters to stop it in exchange for their freedom. After a chase scene Susan manges to defeat the giant robot and goes home. When she returns, she is rejected by both her family and fiance. She realizes that her old life was not so great and being a monster was a good thing. Then she is kidnapped by the evil mastermind alien Gallaxhar who wants the quantonium which had made her big in the first place. After returning to her orignal size and sent to be killed, she is saved by her monster buddies. Then they are separated and she goes and finds Gallahar to save her friends. Once cornering him, he tells her he can't stop it and she used the quantonium to return back to her huge size. Once big again she saves her friends and all is good in the story.

I gotta say, this movie was very enjoyable and not cheesy like all PG movies. It would make you laugh at the most stupidest moments. Also props to Colbert who did the voice of the president. He did an excellent job of the stupid president. Like playing crazy frog to appease the robot. If you grew up in the 90s and 00s you would have heard Crazy Frog sometime by now. In addition, B.O.B character was awesome and his airheadness would make me laugh. Overall, Monsters Vs. Aliens had a very good storyline and great for all ages. Last movie that came out that did that was "Finding Nemo". Both stories had a character who clueless and one that is serious. I would not mind watching it again and I recommend this movie to people who want a good movie to watch. Its nice and clean and great for the whole family.
