How does one get over an almost kiss ruined by Heather? Simple, you dislike Heather and stay tuned for the rest of the episode as Vincent has been exposed to Heather as Catherine's mysterious boyfriend. Tough Love was charged with dealing with the situation that was Heather while working Murfield and VinCat's relationship. Although the fact is that Tough Love was really all about Vincent and Catherine and how they deal with this new change in their lives. In addition to how much freedom do they have in their relationship. Tough Love brought the story around to Evan and what he plans to do with Murfield. So let's ignore Tess and her relationship with Joe for the mean time.
Picking up where Trust No One left off, Catherine quickly whisks Vincent out of the apartment and from Heather. When Catherine returns to the apartment, and Heather begins her interrogation of who exactly is this mystery man. Catherine tries to lie about Vincent being a guy she met at a bar, but Heather figures out its the guy from the wedding that Catherine danced with and demands to meet and have dinner with him. So the next day Catherine mentions this to Vincent and suggests the idea of dinner to Vincent. Vincent shuts this idea down and suggests that Catherine lie to Heather to get out of it. Catherine tells Vincent that she doesn't want to lie to Heather and with this they could spend more time together at her place without too much worry. Then JT ruins the moment (we can forgive him though) and they go their separate ways. The dinner night approaches and Catherine and Vincent are surprised to learn that Heather had invited Joe's brother to dinner as well. While Catherine did most of the talking, Vincent begins noticing something shady about Joe's brother and later lands on Heather's bad side. Vincent and Catherine soon find their relationship in danger as well as Heather from Murfield due to the photos of Vincent she posted online.
Tough Love was a really good episode for Catherine and Vincent as it really gave the characters to grow emotionally and connect. There were moments in Tough Love that VinCat fans will love as Vincent really opens up to Catherine about his feelings. More specifically when Heather interrogated Vincent and he flat out told her that he truly cared for Catherine and how much she means to him. Release your inner girl ladies. In addition the ending scene was something we all have been waiting for and it's about time too. In general Tough Love was really cute in those scenes as Beauty and the Beast finally focused on it's main leads. Which means no random crime mystery this week, which is a plus in my book since Batb wouldn't be able to balance it properly. Batb also finally dealt with Evan and how he is going to play out for the rest of the season or perhaps series. It does add to the drama, and I can't blame Evan for that choice. Doesn't mean I approve of it either.
Now my dislikes about Tough Love is more like complaints than anything else. The only reason I watch Beauty and the Beast is for Vincent and Catherine, not the storyline. So when something gets in the way of that, I tend to get annoyed. Like Heather in general and her need to get involved with Catherine's love life. Not to mention I haven't forgiven her for Trust No One just yet. Actually, I just don't like the character of Heather. As for Tess, she is not as bad when she is not cheating with her boss and staging interventions with Heather. Not cool. Finally Evan, I do like his character growth, but not why he's doing it. I mean he joined SPOILER so he can SPOILER Catherine.
Anyways, I'm happy with the results from Tough Love as both Vincent and Catherine decided to build this relationship despite the dangers. So I'm thinking that we will see in the future some romantic scenes between Catherine and Vincent. Although we're gonna have to wait since Beauty and the Beast has now gone on hiatus until March 14 and then it returns with Any Means Possible. Should be fun with the stakes now set.
Were you waiting for that VinCat moment? On a scale of 1-10, how annoying is Heather? What do you think of Evan's choice?
