Benito got his theatrical training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts after attending Hollywood High Performing Arts Magnet in Los Angeles. He spent many years stage acting but eventually went into acting. He first appeared in the tv series The Bronx Zoo as Fernandaz.

Benito Martinez has appeared in a variety of tv shows over the years. He has appeared in shows like Firefly, Bones, 24, Burn Notice, Lie to Me, and Torchwood. He has had major roles in series like Sons of Anarchy, The Shield, and Supernatural. 2007, he voiced David Aceveda for the video game for the series The Shield. He later received awards for his work on the game, like best supporting actor. Benito has appeared in a few movies like Million Dollar Baby and Saw.
