The Girl with the Dungeons and Dragons Tattoo

Felicia Day guest starring as Charlie on Supernatural.
After that three week hiatus and teasing us about Bobby's existence, Supernatural returns with Of Grave Importance. Not only that, but Supernatural gives us more Bobby to make up for the weeks and months we have missed him. Of Grave Importance is essentially a tale of Bobby's journey of being a ghost and trying to help the boys in anyways he can.

Of Grave Importance is essentially a good old fashioned ghost story with a twist. This time we get to see the hunter side of the hunt where they are looking for the ghosts. In addition to the other side where the ghosts reside on some sort of another plane of existence in that reality. What makes Of Grave Importance even more interesting is that Sam and Dean's storyline takes backseat to Bobby's storyline. Essentially, Of Grave Importance is a Bobby centeric episode and takes us along as he explores what being a ghost can do.

Sam and Dean come to the Van Ness house after fellow hunter Annie Hawkins calls them in for help on the case. Unfortunately, Annie meets her demise in the house soon after calling the boys. Unknowing that Annie is now gone, Sam and Dean continue looking for Annie with. Tied to the flask, Bobby tags along, attempts to help them despite his circumstance. Bobby soon meets up with newly deceased Annie as a ghost. So the two team up to solve this case on their side.

Bobby's investigation is cut short when Sam and Dean leave the house, and being tied to the flask, Bobby is forcibly taken along too. Bobby soon needs to figure out how to get back to the house. Similar to Season 5's Death Takes A Holiday, Bobby begins to experiment with his ghost abilities and succeeds by writing a message on the mirror for Dean. Supernatural ups the chill factor by getting ghost Bobby to write his name on the mirror in answer to Dean's question. The horror of the revelation of Bobby is still around play on Sam and Dean's faces. In Party On, Garth, they had just convinced themselves that Bobby wasn't around. This scene itself gave me chills and still does.

I'm not going to say more about the episode and ruin the surprise. Of Grave Importance's ending I find is a bit sad. Not the sad where the episode was terrible, but the sad where you feel really bad for the characters. But it makes sense knowing what the Supernatural universe. Deep down you want a happy ending, but deeper down you know it was always going to end up to way. After all, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Of Grave Importance was a great way to re-introduce Bobby back to the fans. And the gang is back together (with the exception of the Impala), but in bits and pieces.  Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki and Jim Beaver all did an amazing job in portraying their characters and showing the emotion of the scenes to the fullest. Cause deep down, under all that horror and gore, Supernatural is about family.

Next week's episode, Felicia Day guest stars in The Girl with the Dungeons and Dragons Tattoo. Obviously playing off the title of the movie The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Is it me, or is this season's episode titles seem more pop culture than previous seasons? Anyways, target number 1, Dick Roman, gives Charlie, an tech analysis, Frank's hard drive and gives her 24 hours to crack it or be fired. Sam and Dean get word of this and go meet Charlie. From the looks of it, they manage to convince her to get the hard drive back for them. I have a good feeling about this episode, and by the looks of it, we're probably going to hear about the Leviathan master plan. Check the episode out next friday. Promo below.
