'X-Men: Days of Future Past' Doesn't Give Up Hope In It's Characters

You know after X-Men: The Last Stand I was kinda done with the X-Men franchise all together. Although I have to admit I did watch X Men Origins: Wolverine (because Ryan Reynolds as in it), X Men First Class, and The Wolverine (but not in theatres). My point is, X Men has continuity issues all over the place and the third severely pissed me off. But X-Men: Days of Future fixed all that and took the time to explain and link elements together. Basically pulling a Star Trek. In a way as it stands, X-Men: Days of Future Past is a starting point of something new and exciting for the X-Men universe. It is something any X-Men fans should take the time to sit down and watch. For others who are update with the films, you might be a bit out of your element, but you would probably enjoy the story. For me I was a bit familiar with plot due to my childhood watching X Men cartoons, but just familiar. X-Men: Days of Future Past didn't feel as action packed as previous films as it focused on it's characters and story. Or at least it felt that way as I was just sucked into the film.

Not sure what plot point lead to the beginning of X-Men Days of Future Past, but the most important point is that the Sentinels has been wiping the world of mutant kind and their supporters. With a bleak future, Professor X and Magneto create a plan to go back to the past and change the events of the future. In order to do this they need Logan, the only person who can survive the process. The mission, find Charles and Erik in the past to stop Raven from taking a life for the first time. Logan is sent into the past, and heads to Charles' home only to find Hank, and a very different Professor. Logan manages to convince them that he is from the future and the future Professor sent him to stop Raven, but they need Erik's help to do so. Once they break Erik out of prison, they have to stop Raven from killing the one man who will set the mutant extinction in motion.

The whole concept of X-Men: Days of Future Past was just fantastic and as a fan, was awesome. I have to say that I love both the younger and older cast. It has been a while since all our x-men have be united on one screen. Last time that happened was in X-Men: The Last Stand, which honestly was just not the greatest moment for X-Men. I mean there has been a couple of x-men movies since, but thats it. It was a real treat to have all the characters again, and big props to all the actors who made it out to the movie. Despite being a tale of survival, X-Men: Days of Future Past took time to grow it's characters into the people they were meant to be. Charles it was find hope again and strive to help others. For Erik, it was to save his people. Raven got a chance to find out who she was and want she wanted. To sum it up, it explained any questions you had lingering about other characters and what happened. Which was even more awesome it kinda spat on the events of X-Men: The Last Stand. X-Men: Days of Future Past even had time to crack the odd joke here and there with Logan's metal detect issues, and Hank vs. Logan. Oh let's not forget about Quicksliver and how much fun he was. Not a dull moment.

Much as it was a joy to watch, there are somethings that need to be addressed about X-Men: Days of Future Past. First there is some obviously unanswered questions, but this could be to the nature of this film coming to being. Like how Xavier is still alive, but then that could be explained by the ending of the The Last Stand. But anyways, that is just too much filling in the blanks for me. Another thing is that the trailer promoted the movie as action packed, but it kinda didn't feel that way. Sure there was some nice displays of mutant powers, but no prolonged group battles. The ones they did do lasted at least like as much as 5 minutes. This could be credited to the fact that they probably had a limited budget due to all the star power in the film. But still it would have been awesome t

What a way to kick off the summer with some good old superhero movies. X-Men: Days of Future Past was exactly the movie that the X-Men universe needed, and we the fans needed. Although, seeing it once is enough for me. But it was worth the wait. Make sure to stay till the end of the credits since there is a scene that hints towards the sequel, which has been green lit already. Which by the way I am very excited for. Although this states a fact that Marvel and X-Men both hold large cast like movies before DC could ever get a justice league working. Our review for X-Men: Days of Future Past is:
