Pilot Watch: Marvel's Agents of Shield

Title: Marvel's Agents of Shield. Or just Agents of Shield.
Cast: Clark Gregg, Brett Dalton, Elizabeth Henstridge, Ming-Na Wen, Iain De Caestecker, and Chloe Bennet.
Created By: Joss Whedon
About: Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel’s feature films, as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary. Coulson's team consists of Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), highly trained in combat and espionage; Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen), expert pilot and martial artist; Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker), brilliant engineer; and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge), genius bio-chemist. Joining them on their journey into mystery is new recruit and computer hacker, Skye (Chloe Bennet).

Our Opinion: Anything tied to the Avengers is a basic money maker. Anything created by Joss Whedon is bound to draw an audience. If anything I am pegging Agents of Shield for success this year as the new show launches this fall about the other side of Shield. Not to mention the series brings back fan favorite Agent Coulson, who met his demise in the film. Now he is back and making a team of his own of regular joes to help make a difference. I hope they explain how they brought Coulson back and not drag it out too. Also does this mean Coulson will appear in the films again? I wonder how Tony is going to react? They did say that this series will tie in with the films. So I think we should expect a lot of references towards the films and a connection between them. I suspect though there is going to be a lot of storylines of what makes a hero and doing the right thing. Also, another fun fact to remember is that Marvel is owned by Disney, which owns ABC, so we might see some footage from the films and maybe more? My main concern is that is that it will turn into a drama and let that take the wheel. Or become another case of the week show, cause you, television obviously doesn't have enough of those.

At some point I will definitely check out Agents of Shield whether it's September 24, or later. Probably later since I already have a lot of shows I'm watching on Monday and Tuesday (Batb, Sleepy Hollow, Supernatural and Person of Interest). Although if I find time, I will watch because deep down, I'm a superhero nerd and how could I not watch it? For those of you who aren't really into that scene, Agents of Shield will probably not be your thing, but don't worry, there is plenty of other new shows coming out.
