Beauty and the Beast 'Worth': Matters Of The Heart

I like where Beauty and the Beast in heading, and it didn't waste what it was given in the previous episode. Worth continues on with the relationship between Catherine and Vincent as it grow deeper. I know I keep mentioning that, but that's what this show is all about. Although the side effect of this was that the crime plot suffered a bit as it wasn't as top notch, or anywhere near Beauty and the Beast's highest point. BatB did learn though from it's previous episodes and changed the opening statement so it wasn't as annoying.

Worth begins with Catherine visiting Vincent at his place asking why didn't show up for dinner the previous night. Vincent mentions he wasn't feeling well, which is why he was a no show. Catherine mentions that she liked the gift he gave her (and we'll never find out what it was) and gets straight to the point about him possibly seeing her and Evan kissing. Beauty and the Beast didn't dance around the issue as Vincent admits he did see her kissing Evan and it wasn't really any of his business. Vincent unknowingly hurt Catherine and she heads out to a crime scene at an art gallery. Skipping all the crime scene stuff, at the police station, Tess notices that Catherine is feeling down and Catherine admits a mysterious man (Vincent as we all know) left her down. Also the police station, Catherine's father drops by and makes Catherine come to dinner with Evan, who is more than happy to escort her.

Back on Vincent's end, JT is enjoying his own growing romance with the lady from his university. JT decides to give Vincent advice on Catherine, since he has officially announced hes all for Team Catherine now, and tells Vincent to not to wait while Catherine drifts away from him. Yes, Vincent listen to JT, he knows what hes talking about. So Vincent does and goes to Catherine's apartment as she is getting ready to go to the art gallery and Evan comes to the door. Realizing that he might be losing Catherine, Vincent sets out to do the only thing he can; help out on the case.

The most important element of Worth was the relationship of Catherine and Vincent finally reaching that point in their relationship where they realize they mean more to each other than they thought. I am also happy that the love triangle is not too bad in BatB as Catherine is not completely conflicted between Evan and Vincent. In fact, tipping more to the Vincent side of the scale, which makes me very happy. In fact at one point in this episode, my inner fan girl escaped as the scene between Vincent and Catherine happened near the end. With all that aside, I like the mystery BatB has going with Vincent's change in his condition. Especially with the ending of Worth. It was also cute to get a bit of information on Vincent's past as well.

The main downfall of Worth was the main problem Beauty and the Beast has had from the start; the crime plot. It was similar to the Pilot with the plot. It was the person you picked in the back of your mind that you thought did it. In Worth, that is kinda what happened. My next worry is what is going to happened after this relationship happens? Tv shows thrive on dysfunction and problems. I am not going to think about it now. I still don't like Tess as she keeps bugging Catherine to go for Evan. Not to mention that she never asks questions about where Catherine disappears to all the time.

I felt I have ranted enough about the relationships and how I don't like Tess enough. Looking forward to seeing how Beauty and the Beast plays out, even though like all the CW shows, is on hiatus. BatB returns in two weeks with Out of Control. Sounds good.

Are you excited for the recent development in Catherine and Vincent's relationship?
